    Hello, thanks for bringing me back to F.E.A.R.
    I started in the Beta back in 2005 and gave up in 2009.
    It’s been great playing again, I even got some of my old clan members (also retired) to join me.

    I am having a issue with hosting a dedicated server and it not showing up in the public server list.
    I am running your latest server.
    It dose show up in the LAN list.
    I have made sure the txt file for the server is set to: LANOnly=0
    The application has full access thru the firewall, I have even tried turning the firewall off.
    I have hosted servers in the past with the original F.E.A.R. with no issues, I am a tad bit stumped.

    Windows 7 is what I’m running.

    Is there something that needs to be done to enable it to be public?
    Dose it make a difference if I am hosting from the machine I am playing on?
    The txt file is as follows:

    [ServerSettings]
    GameType=DeathMatch
    ServerMessage=
    UsePassword=0
    Password=password
    AllowScmdCommands=0
    ScmdPassword=password
    Port=27888
    BindToAddr=
    BandwidthServer=3
    BandwidthServerCustom=1500
    LANOnly=0
    Dedicated=1
    AllowContentDownload=1
    MaxDownloadRatePerClient=40960
    MaxDownloadRateAllClients=655360
    MaxSimultaneousDownloads=16
    MaxDownloadSize=-1
    RedirectURLs=
    ContentDownloadMessage=
    EnableScoringLog=0
    MaxScoringLogFileAge=0
    AllowVoteKick=0
    AllowVoteTeamKick=0
    AllowVoteBan=0
    AllowVoteNextRound=1
    AllowVoteNextMap=1
    AllowVoteSelectMap=1
    MinPlayersForVote=3
    MinPlayersForTeamVote=3
    VoteLifetime=30
    VoteBanDuration=30
    VoteDelay=0
    UsePunkBuster=0
    [DeathMatch]
    BriefingOverrideMessage=
    RunSpeed=1.2
    SessionName=FEAR Deathmatch
    ScoreLimit=500
    TimeLimit=20
    NumRounds=1
    MaxPlayers=3
    UseWeaponRestrictions=0
    RestrictedWeapons=
    RestrictedGear=
    EndRoundMessageTime=5
    EndRoundScoreScreenTime=10
    Mission0=Worlds\ReleaseMultiplayer\Factory
    Mission1=Worlds\ReleaseMultiplayer\Office
    Mission2=Worlds\ReleaseMultiplayer\Campus
    Mission3=Worlds\ReleaseMultiplayer\Docks
    Mission4=Worlds\ReleaseMultiplayer\Refinery
    Mission5=Worlds\ReleaseMultiplayer\HighTech

    I hope that someone can help with this.
    Many thanks in advance.

    There are 2 pending details:
    You may need to manually make a port fowarding rule in your router. This wasn’t needed in the past, but looks like now has to be done explicitly.

    Also, If you have a static IP, you may want to edit this line:
    BindToAddr=
    Adding your external IP.

    Let us know If It works.

    Thanks for the suggestions,
    I have been trying all week to get a server up and running, but no joy.

    I don’t have a static IP.

    I have set up port forwarding rules in the router, restarted it many times.
    and still have no luck.

    I contacted my ISP, and they refused to help set up port forwarding, that want me to pay for a specialized department of their business to set it up.

    Please private message me the IP address you were using during one of the attempts to bring up the server, and I will check the master server logs to see what is coming through.

    Hello, I went and got a new modem/router.
    Got the port forwarding sorted out…
    The server shows in the: http://master.fear-combat.org/api/serverlist-raw.php
    Which is great, but when in game it dose not show in the in game server list, only shows on LAN.
    Is this only me that it dose this to?

    Hello.
    It’s all good, thank you.
    I had some people join to verify that they can see and access the server.
    Thanks again.
